Flexibility and Mobility
I was a dancer for many years and am also a qualified acrobatics teacher but I am definitely not as bendy as I was in my twenties. Who is? It is so very important that we work to keep our bodies moving well as we age though. Flexibility and joint mobility are often put to the bottom of the priorities list when it comes to exercise (we are all guilty of skipping our stretches right). I want to change that and make it as easy as possible for you to build a simple effective and fun routine. Fitness programmes that include regular stretching and strength training can prevent injuries, reduce aches and pains and improve posture.
How I Can Help You
Getting stronger and fitter also means keeping our joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments moving well. I will be looking at movement ability and restrictions in your first session so that I can give you guidance on how to improve in this area. Whether you would like an at home programme to follow or to make use of the YouTube workout library through my training app it has never been easier to do your stretches. They are vital for joint health which is so very important especially as we age. All we need to do is find a way to fit them in that suits your lifestyle.
PJ STRETCH
As a PT Client you have access to a library of stretch and mobility YouTube workouts. These range from 5 to 30 minutes long and can be done anywhere that you have your phone and a little bit of space.
A hot favourite with my VIPs is PJ Stretch. Roll outta bed, grab a coffee and log on (still in your PJs) for a chilled wake up stretch with me leading the session. You can access a number of PJ Stretch video workouts within the app so you can start your day in a lovely positive stretchy way. Ace right? x

"I started doing Leonie’s morning stretch classes as I felt like all my joints had got stiff in lockdown and I was actually suffering with some mild sciatica. Not only has the class improved my joint mobility and flexibility (relieving so much of the lower back pain I had), it’s actually given me a good reason to get out of bed in the morning and massively improved my sleep pattern and my mood!"
